Write copy that converts. Use when writing landing pages, emails, sales copy, headlines, CTAs, social posts, cold emails, or any persuasive text. Triggers on 'copy', 'copywriting', 'sales copy', 'landing page copy', 'cold email', 'headlines', 'write me a page', 'make this convert', 'rewrite this copy', or any request involving persuasive writing. Three modes: Generate (write from scratch), Edit (improve existing copy with Seven Sweeps), Cold Email (outbound sequences). If someone has text that needs to sell harder, this is the skill.

Note: Examples below use fictional brands (Acme, Lumi, Helm). Replace with your own brand context.
Here's what separates copy that converts from copy that just exists: the good stuff sounds like a person talking to you. Not a marketing team. Not a guru. Not a robot. A person who figured something out and wants to share it.
That's what this skill does. It writes copy that feels natural while deploying the persuasion principles that actually work. The reader shouldn't notice the technique. They should just find themselves nodding along and clicking the button.
This skill operates in three modes. Select based on what the user needs:
| Mode | When to Use | Trigger Phrases |
|---|---|---|
| Generate (default) | Write new copy from scratch | "write copy," "landing page," "headlines," "sales copy," "social post" |
| Cold-email | B2B cold outreach, prospecting sequences | "cold email," "cold outreach," "prospecting email," "nobody's replying" |
| Edit | Review and improve existing copy | "edit this copy," "review my copy," "tighten this up," "copy sweep," "proofread" |

This skill works standalone.brand/landscape.md if it exists — check the Claims Blacklist before making ecosystem or competitive claims. If stale (>14 days) or missing, warn that market claims may be outdated.marketing/campaigns/ for existing copy — if found, ask: revise, add new, or start fresh?Write like you're explaining to a smart friend who's skeptical but curious. Back up every claim with specifics. Make the transformation viscerally clear.
Brand files shape every piece of copy:
Follow this sequence for every Generate task:
Before diving into frameworks, establish the format:
| Format | Structure | Constraints |
|---|---|---|
| Landing page | Hero, problem, solution, proof, CTA | 800-2000 words, mobile-first, one primary CTA |
| Sales page | Extended sequence with founder story, FAQ | 2000-5000 words, multiple CTAs, risk reversal prominent |
| Hook, value, CTA | Under 500 words, subject line is the headline | |
| Ad copy | Hook, benefit, CTA | Platform-specific character limits |
| Social post | Hook + value + CTA | Platform-native, under 300 words |
The headline does 80% of the work. One headline can outpull another by 19.5x.
The master formula: [Action verb] + [specific outcome] + [timeframe or contrast]
Generate 5-10 variants using different frameworks:
Present with a QUICK PICK summary and mark recommended with a star.
The first sentence has one job: get them to read the second sentence.
For every feature, ask "so what?" until you hit something emotional or financial:
Feature → Functional → Financial → Emotional
Write from the bottom of the chain. Not "saves 4 hours" but "close your laptop at 5pm instead of 9pm."
Don't just describe pain. Do the math:
"4 hrs setting up emails + 6 hrs designing a landing page + 4 hrs for Stripe webhooks = 22+ hours of headaches. There's an easier way."
Generate at least 2 variants for landing/sales pages:
| Weak | Strong |
|---|---|
| "Sign Up" | "Get ShipFast" |
| "Learn More" | "See the exact template I used" |
| "Subscribe" | "Send me the first lesson free" |
Below the CTA: [Risk reversal] + [Social proof] + [Speed/ease]
B2B cold outreach that sounds like it came from a sharp, thoughtful human, not a sales machine.
Understand the situation:
Write like a peer, not a vendor. Use contractions. Read it aloud. If it sounds like marketing copy, rewrite it.
Every sentence must earn its place. Cold email is ruthlessly short. Under 75 words = 83% more replies.
Personalization must connect to the problem. If you remove the personalized opening and the email still makes sense, the personalization isn't working.
Lead with their world, not yours. "You/your" dominates over "I/we."
One ask, low friction. Interest-based CTAs ("Worth exploring?") beat meeting requests.
Short, boring, internal-looking. 2-4 words, lowercase, no punctuation tricks.
See references/subject-lines.md for full data.
See references/frameworks.md for all frameworks with examples.
3-5 total emails with increasing gaps (Day 0, 3, 7-8, 14, 21-28). Each must add new value, not just "checking in."
Angle rotation: core value → different benefit → social proof → industry insight → breakup email
Breakup email: Acknowledge silence, validate their lack of interest, leave door open. Honor it.
See references/follow-up-sequences.md for cadence and templates.
Systematic improvement of existing copy through focused editing passes.
Edit through seven sequential passes, each focused on one dimension:
| Sweep | Focus | Key Question |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Clarity | Can a 12-year-old understand it? | Confusing structures, jargon, ambiguity |
| 2. Voice & Tone | Is it consistent throughout? | Shifts between formal/casual, brand personality |
| 3. So What | Does every claim answer "why should I care?" | Features without benefits, missing "which means..." |
| 4. Prove It | Is every claim supported? | Unsubstantiated claims, missing social proof |
| 5. Specificity | Is it concrete enough? | Vague language, generic statements, round numbers |
| 6. Heightened Emotion | Does it make them feel something? | Flat language, pain not felt, aspirations not evoked |
| 7. Zero Risk | Have we removed every barrier? | Friction near CTAs, unanswered objections |
After each sweep, loop back to check previous sweeps aren't compromised.
Cut: very, really, extremely, just, actually, basically, in order to Replace: utilize→use, implement→set up, leverage→use, facilitate→help, robust→strong, seamless→smooth, cutting-edge→new
See references/plain-english-alternatives.md for the full list.
Rate on 7 dimensions (1-10 each):
| # | Dimension | 10 Looks Like |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Clarity | Crystal clear in one read. Zero re-reading required. |
| 2 | Specificity | Every claim has a specific number or example. |
| 3 | Voice | Unmistakably human. Distinctive. |
| 4 | Desire | Reader feels FOMO by paragraph 2. Visceral pull toward CTA. |
| 5 | Proof | Specific testimonials, data, case studies. Nothing unsubstantiated. |
| 6 | Urgency | Time-bound + consequence of inaction. Authentic, not manufactured. |
| 7 | Flow | Impossible to stop reading. Slippery slide from headline to CTA. |
| Range | Verdict |
|---|---|
| 63-70 (90-100%) | Ship it. Minor polish only. |
| 56-62 (80-89%) | Strong. Ship with small tweaks. |
| 49-55 (70-79%) | Passing. Leaving performance on the table. |
| 42-48 (60-69%) | Weak. Rewrite priority areas. |
| Below 42 (<60%) | Full rewrite needed. |
Words: delve, comprehensive, robust, cutting-edge, utilize, leverage, crucial, unlock, unleash, supercharge, game-changer, landscape, navigate, streamline
Phrases: "In today's fast-paced world..." / "It's important to note..." / "Whether you're a... or a..." / "Let's dive in"
Punctuation: Too many em-dashes (limit 1-2 per piece). Long sentences with 4+ commas. Every paragraph same length.
Voice: Passive throughout. No "I" or "you." Hedging: "some may find," "can potentially." No contractions.
Real humans use contractions, write fragments sometimes, have opinions without hedging, and make unexpected word choices.
Landing page hero — Generate mode
Before (generic): 'The best verified meal delivery platform' After (positioned):
Headline: Order verified-source food you actually trust. Subhead: Every restaurant on Acme is verified by certified source inspectors. Not algorithms. Not self-reported labels. Real people checking real kitchens. CTA: Find verified-source restaurants near me →
Scoring: Hook (9/10) — specific trust angle. Clarity (8/10) — one idea per line. CTA (9/10) — benefit-focused, not 'Sign Up'.
After generating copy, suggest 3-5 tests:

Use when setting up a secure email inbox for any AI agent — configuring inbound email via Resend, webhooks, tunneling for local development, and implementing security measures to prevent prompt injection attacks. Also use when someone mentions 'agent email', 'bot inbox', 'receive emails for agent', 'agent webhook', 'email security for AI', 'prompt injection via email', 'inbound email for bot', or wants their AI agent to receive and respond to emails securely.

Builds, measures, and improves an Answer Engine Optimization program across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, and Copilot. Use for AEO, GEO, LLMO, AI search visibility, AI citations, brand mentions, answer-engine monitoring, llms.txt, AI crawler audits, or questions like 'what does AI say about us?' and 'why are competitors cited instead of us?'. Produces a durable evidence report and prioritized gameplan, not a one-shot content checklist.

Generate Apple App Store screenshot pages as a Next.js app with html-to-image export at required resolutions. Screenshots are advertisements, not documentation — every screenshot sells one idea. Use when building App Store screenshots, generating exportable marketing screenshots for iOS apps, or creating programmatic screenshot generators. Triggers on 'app store screenshots', 'App Store', 'screenshot generator', 'iOS screenshots', 'marketing screenshots', 'phone mockup', 'ASO screenshots', 'app store assets', 'app listing', 'app store page', or 'app preview images'. Also use when someone is about to submit an app and needs store assets, or when they say 'make my app store page look good'. Includes iPhone and iPad mockup components with pre-measured dimensions.

Build detailed buyer personas and audience profiles from research. Use this skill whenever the user mentions audience, buyer persona, ideal customer, target market, ICP, watering holes, 'who am I selling to', customer research, or audience profile. Also use when content feels unfocused or generic (that's an audience problem), when conversion is low because messaging doesn't resonate, when starting any new project (audience should be first), or when any downstream skill needs audience.md but it doesn't exist yet. Even if the user doesn't explicitly ask for audience research, trigger this if they're writing copy or building a landing page without a clear audience defined. Three approaches: Quick Profile, Persona Build, Community Mining.
